Sugarcane
Bagasse
Sugarcane (bagasse) is a by-product of making sugar. When the stalks are harvested and pressed, the remaining fibrous pulp is made into a paper-like substance called bagasse, which is then formed into a variety of products from small portion cups to large catering trays.
EN 13432 CERTIFIED
EN 13432 requires the compostable plastics to disintegrate after 12 weeks and completely biodegrade after six months, 90% or more of the plastic material is converted into CO2. The remaining share is converted into water and biomass
NUTRITIONAL VALUE
It contains low crude fat (2.0%), high carbohydrate (55.4%), high crude fibre (30.4%), high total dietary fibre (79.5 g/100g) and insoluble dietary fibre (75 g/100g), high fail holding capacity (9.4 g/g), and high organic molecule absorption capacity (8.3 g/g).
